The Sudanese Mobile Telephone Company (Zain) launched the Al-Tayeb Salih International Award for Creativite writing in February 2010 in the memory of the late writer Al-Tayeb Salih. The Award includes all novelists and writers from all over the world. This was an effort by Zain to support culture and art in Sudan.
Lieutenant-General Pilot Al-Fateh Urwa, Managing Director of Zain Sudan, explained that the award is a kind of return to Al-Tayeb Salih for his support the culture in Sudan.
