Zain Sponsors the Campaign October, Global Month for avoiding the dangers of breast tumors for the year 2015G

<p> The Sudanese Mobile Tele-Communications Company Zain sponsored the events of the “Global Month for avoidance of the dangers of breast cancer” for the year 2015G in partnership with the “Women’s’ Initiatives Group”, where this partnership has resulted in making available np-charge clinics for early testing for the disease, awareness raising lectures in various institutions, universities, and schools, in addition to mobile no-charge clinics set up on different areas of Khartoum State, also awareness booklets have been distributed and the campaign’s slogan has been broadcast through Media to raise awareness about this disease. </p> <br> <p> The Campaign was launched on October 1st, of the current 2015, using all Media to increase awareness among women to focus on the significance of early diagnosis to raise the level of awareness about breast cancer, educate women in self-testing and provide them with the necessary information, besides encouraging them to run tests early, to determine this type of cancer, as the probability of recovery is larger when diagnosed in early stages. Zain has intensified its media campaign to make known the no-charge clinics belonging to the Women’s Initiatives Group, and the Company has also organized lectures in each of: the Mawhoobin School in Khartoun Bahri,Riyadh Al-Islam Secondary School in Shambaat, Nasir Islamic Secondary School in Khartoum, the Ministry of Culture, Human Relief Foundation, Leader Al-Azhari University, Al-Yarmouk University, and the Ministry of Information, in addition to training medical cadres in Omdurman Hospital (for Childbirth). On the closing day of the campaign, Zain organized a popular ceremony in “Waha Al-Khartoum Mall” on the 30th of October, including the experience of survivor of breast cancer, plus other interesting events. </p> <br> <p> Worthy of mention is that Zain sponsors these campaigns for five consecutive times during which it organized several awareness lectures given by scientists and experts on breast tumors in the capital and a number of provinces, accompanied by radio and television interviews, newspaper advertisements, and closing ceremonies to draw attention to the pink month. Also that the global month for breast cancer awareness is a global initiative on which work commenced on the global level in October 2006, as groups worldwide adopt the color pink as their emblem to raise awareness for the dangers of breast cancer. Likewise, a charity campaign is held internationally to raise awareness and support, to present information, and to assist in confronting this disease. </p> <br> <h2> The Pink Month in Numbers <h2> <br> <p>  The infection rate of breast cancer among women has reached 29% of the total infections of different types of cancer, and among men has reached 3% of the total infections of cancer.  85% of women go to the hospital after the disease reaches its third or fourth stage which is a difficult stage to treat, and 95% of that percentage lose their life as result of delaying going to the hospital to receive treatment.  In the years 2012 thru2015 Zain held 24 events to inform of the dangers of this disease, including lectures, conferences, workshops, radio and television interludes, and training of medical cadres to test for breast cancer.  The percentage of women who have undergone tests through the Women’s Initiative Group in partnership with Zain is, up till now 39,000 women. <p>
